Janne HanhijÄrvi

Janne Hanhijärvi (b.1968, Helsinki) has studied music in Tampere and Turku Concervatories and during his studies participated several international cello and conducting masterclases in Finland, United States and Italy. He has studied cello with Timo Hanhinen and Arturo Bonucci and conducting with Jyri Nissilä and Yuri Ahronovich.
At 1996 Hanhijärvi founded a Kaukametsä Chamber Orchestra in Kajaani. At 1998 his orchestra was awarded a first prize in international Pro Archi competition in Hungary and Hanhijärvi awarded the conductors prize. Hanhijärvi has been an artistic director of the Mieslahti Soi Music Cources and Music Festival in Paltamo 1997-2004. He has performed as a conductor in Finland, Hungary, Czech Rebublic, Italy, Germany, Spain and Serbia. In autum 2003 he was invited as a artistic director and conductor of the Juvenalia Chamber Orchestra in Espoo. At 2006 Hanhijärvi was awarded by an invitation as a main conductor of Festival Internacional de Orquestas de Jovenes, Murcia, Spain.
